The Valley of the Temples is an archaeological site in Sicily characterized by the exceptional state of preservation and a series of important Doric temples of the Hellenistic period.
Since 1997, the entire area has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO drafted. It is considered a popular tourist destination, as well as being the symbol of the city and one of the largest of the island. The archaeological park and landscape of the Valley of the Temples, with its 1300 hectares, is the largest archaeological site in the world.
